DAYTON, OH [January 29, 2025] – The Miami Valley Restaurant Association (MVRA) is thrilled to announce the addition of veteran food writer Alexis Larsen to its team.

With 29 years of journalism experience and two decades of expertise covering the culinary world, Larsen brings an unparalleled passion for dining, storytelling, and connecting food lovers with the vibrant chefs, flavors, and trends shaping our community’s dining scene.

In this exciting role as the Dine Out Dayton Correspondent for the MVRA, Larsen will spearhead dining coverage for the association, providing foodies with engaging stories about local chefs, must-try recipes, and exclusive insights into special events. From breaking the biggest stories in local dining news to features highlighting the artistry behind the region’s culinary talent, Larsen will spotlight the flavors and rich culture of the region’s restaurants.

With an illustrious journalism career spanning 29 years at the Dayton Daily News, Larsen has contributed to a myriad of both local, state and national newspapers and magazines and has earned a reputation as a trusted voice in food journalism. Her knack for capturing the essence of a meal, the heart of a chef’s story, and the pulse of the Dayton dining scene has made her a favorite among readers and industry insiders alike.

“Joining the MVRA as its Dine Out Dayton Correspondent is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the amazing culinary talent and dining experiences that make our community so special,” said Larsen. “I look forward to sharing stories that inspire, inform, and excite fellow food lovers while celebrating the chefs, restaurateurs, and food purveyors who bring our dining scene to life.”

Through comprehensive coverage, Larsen will explore the latest dining trends, profile local culinary stars, and guide foodies to hidden gems and new favorites. In addition, her work will highlight upcoming events, pop-ups, and collaborations that continue to shape the evolving dining landscape of Dayton.

In addition to an unwavering passion for food that has fueled her, so has a deep commitment and love for outdoor recreation, conservation and the environment. Larsen serves as the Chief of Philanthropy for Five Rivers MetroParks leading the agency’s fundraising efforts and serving as the liaison to the James M. Cox, Jr. Arboretum Foundation, Wegerzyn Gardens Foundation and the Five Rivers MetroParks Foundation. Larsen was named one of 25 Women to Watch by Women in Business Networking (WiBN) and was named the Dayton Public Relations Society of America’s Communicator of the Year among other recent awards. She is thrilled to be acting as the Dine Out Dayton Correspondent for the MVRA during her free time helping to spotlight the latest and greatest people and dishes that can be found in the region’s bustling restaurant scene.
