Clear your calendar, grab your hungriest friend and loosen that belt, because Summer Restaurant Week is back, and it’s bringing the flavor.

July 20–27  Brings Tasty Deals at Over 30 of Dayton’s Top Dining Spots

Restaurant Week

From July 20–27 the Miami Valley Restaurant Association is throwing the tastiest week of the year with more than 30 of Dayton’s top restaurants rolling out special multi-course menus at mouthwatering prices, inviting guests to dine in style without breaking the bank.

Whether you’re craving steak that melts in your mouth, bold vegetarian plates, international fare or indulgent desserts that demand your undivided attention, you’ll find something to savor and a great reason to try somewhere new. With prix-fixe menus ranging from $20.25 to $55.25, it’s the perfect chance to try something new and support your favorite spots or new destinations you’ve been curious about.

Since it began in 2005 the Miami Valley Restaurant Association’s Summer Restaurant Week promotion has been a win-win for customers and restaurants, helping to bring new customers through the doors and helping boost restaurant revenues during a time of year that tends to see a dip in revenue according to Amy Zahora, executive director of the Miami Valley Restaurant Association. Zahora emphasizes this beloved dining tradition, now celebrating two decades of success, is more than just an opportunity to enjoy a good meal, it’s enshrined itself as a full-on flavor fest that fuels local restaurants, lifts up community causes and brings Dayton’s food lovers together for one delicious week. Think of it as a week-long dinner party hosted by the city’s best chefs.

“Our chefs pull out all the stops with dishes you won’t find any other time of year,” says Zahora. “Restaurant Week is truly a flavor-packed invitation to explore the best of Dayton’s dining scene whether you’re discovering a new gem or revisiting an old favorite with a fresh twist.”

For fresh Mediterranean flavors at a stellar price, head to Greek Street in Centerville. Their $20.25 Restaurant Week dinner platter lets you build your perfect Greek feast. Start with your choice of gyro protein: Lamb, chicken, chicken souvlaki, pork belly, keftedes (Greek meatballs), shrimp or veggie. Pair it with a generous side, including options like: Classic or Greek fries with tzatziki, feta and scallions, Village Salad or half of a Greek salad with crisp romaine, watermelon salad with feta, mint, red onion and cumin-lime vinaigrette, avgolemono soup, a Greek classic with roasted chicken, lemon and rice. You’ll also get a fountain drink and a piece of flaky, honey-soaked baklava to finish. It’s fast-casual dining with full-flavor flair and a total steal.

GOURMET DINING

If you’re looking to turn Restaurant Week into a fine-dining experience, Manna Uptown is leading the way with one of the most luxurious menus of the week. Known for its refined technique and globally inspired flavors, this chef-driven gem is offering a sophisticated spread that’s as beautiful as it is bold. For entrées, guests can choose between two exquisite options. The Coq au Vin Blanc ($55.25) is a French classic — chicken gently stewed in a buttery white wine sauce with bacon, mushrooms and pearl onions, served over jasmine rice and paired with roasted carrots. It’s rich, aromatic and deeply comforting. The second option, Tagliatelle alla Ragu Bolognese ($49.25), brings Italian comfort to the forefront with a tomato-based meat sauce slow-cooked with ground beef, pancetta and sofrito, then tossed with ribbons of fresh tagliatelle pasta. To start the meal, guests can choose between two distinct appetizers. The Mahi Bites feature garlic- and soy-marinated mahi-mahi, lightly fried and served with a zesty caper aioli. Or opt for the Arugula & Berries, a refreshing and vibrant salad of arugula, fresh blueberries, glazed carrots, toasted cashew mascarpone and a blackberry-ginger balsamic vinaigrette making a sweet and savory celebration of summer. The meal ends on a fragrant, citrusy note with Portokalopita, a rich Greek cake made with orange zest and yogurt, soaked in a sweet citrus syrup. It’s a fitting finale to a menu that elevates global flavors into an elegant local experience.

NEW TO THE TABLE

Making a bold debut in both the Miami Valley Restaurant Association and Summer Restaurant Week is SOB Steakhouse, located at 7630 Gibson St. in Liberty Township. Known for its edgy branding, upscale comfort food and hip, rebellious vibe, SOB is serving up a three-course menu that’s as stylish as it is satisfying, all for $46.25. The first course offers playful yet elevated options like the “Heck Yes, I Want Bread” sourdough with a garlic butter candle, “Million $ Deviled Eggs” topped with bacon, pickle, and gold leaf (gluten-free), and a Caesar salad dressed with anchovy, a Parmesan “cloud” and brioche croutons. For the main event, guests can choose from a tender 6 oz. filet mignon with parmesan whipped potatoes and demi-glace, House chicken linguini tossed in a roasted chili cream with white cheddar and pecorino or a stunning seared salmon paired with sweet corn crème brûlée and sundried tomato vinaigrette. Dessert is no afterthought: choose between a cookie flight of Chef Cristine’s house-made creations or a strawberry cheesecake crème brûlée, a silky custard with brûléed sugar and a cheesecake swirl. It’s an unapologetically indulgent introduction you won’t want to miss.

“Restaurant Week is more than just a meal — it’s a chance to support the heart of our community: independent restaurants and the people behind them,” says Zahora. “Every plate served helps support local chefs, local jobs, and local nonprofits. It’s a win-win for your taste buds and your town.”
